Research interests

I am a Marine Ecology Master's student at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa with a deep passion for marine ecosystems and tropical coral reefs. I completed my bachelor's degree in Marine Biology at the University of Algarve, where I participated in kelp forest restoration along the Cascais coast, an experience that sparked my dedication to habitat restoration. My focus expanded into tropical coral reefs through years of reef keeping and coral propagation as a hobby.
Currently, I am undertaking my Master's thesis internship at the Oceanário de Lisboa to learn more about ex-situ coral reproduction techniques and aquarium management. During this internship, I will be overseeing the reproduction and maintenance of two native portuguese gorgonian species, one tropical stony coral species from Australia, as well as various teleosts and seahorses. My long-term goal is to specialise in tropical coral biology, propagation, and reef restoration ecology.
