Research interests

Hi, I'm Gustavo! I am an MSc student in Marine Biology and Conservation. For my master's thesis, I am investigating whether differences in coral growth can be predicted using key coral traits and mass-balance models. By combining a meta-analysis of traits with empirical data from orthomosaic maps of the Great Barrier Reef, I aim to help estimate reef accretion and predict recovery after disturbances. Outside of this research, I am also working with the dolphin populations of the Tagus River, and in my free time, I love scuba diving and wildlife observation.
