My name is Sam! I finished my BSc in Physical Geography at St Andrews in 2025, and wrote my undergraduate thesis on how light gradients affect plant community composition, and now I am finishing my MSc in Marine Ecosystem Management at the Scottish Oceans Institute in St Andrews. I am interested in exploring how we can predict underwater light regimes in tropical coral reef ecosystems using photogrammetry and physics based light modelling, to open future opportunities to pose more detailed questions about how the underwater built environment mediates life.
